Mega-Cities; Any city with a population of 1/2 a million or more swelled into a Mega-City with three times the modern day population while many of those with smaller populations vanished completely. The Mega-Cities are like Cyberpunk’s Night City (San Francisco), Shadowrun’s Seattle (Seattle), and Rift’s Chi Town (Chicago). Smaller communities exist, but are more like those depicted in Rifts with populations rarely over 1/10 the modern numbers.

Transport from any megacity to another is generally easy to arrange with traditional services like planes, buses, trains, and ships available as well as ballistic semi-orbitals for flights over 600 miles and TW airships and Ley Line Teleportation to those cities that don’t restrict magic.

The Moon and Orbital Colonies can be reached by shuttle as well (only the moon colony can be reliably reached by ley line teleportation), and most megacities that embrace magic have trade with other dimensions such as the Three Galaxies/Phase World.

Atlantis does do trade with other nations, particularly in Africa and the Middle East but is not a member of the U.N. and is embargoed by many countries for their active hostilities and slave trade.
